a walk yesterday

with The Irish Girl, a.k.a my mom, who is Italian and Austrian, but for some reason often wears Irish girl t-shirts like "kiss me I'm Irish".

Gorgeous pics, Taffiny. I love shots of water and forests, particularly rives flowing between the trees. Dreamy, restful, tranquil.

These are great, Taffiny. So serene. I am really enjoying how many places Phoctober has allowed me to visit.

Love, love, love the walk.
How beautiful! That covered bridge is really interesting and I could almost hear the forest.

Thank you!

I need to get my camera out and share my walk photos, very different from yours! I'll get to it soon (I hope). But I miss the woods and the creeks and the smell of drying leaves and damp moss. I grew up in No. Virginia and spent summers in upstate NY, very different from this Mediterranean foilage and terrain.

I can't tell you how many times I have talked about "be quiet, I can't taste my cookie" since I read it on the weekend. It's so true about how we have to concentrate on our senses to really appreciate and enjoy what they (we) are experiencing. I love that "be quiet I can't tate my cookie" Well done!
"See" you soon, Amy

Vanilla,
Thank you. Nothing as exciting/amazing as your whale watching, but yeah, dreamy, restful and tranquil.

Maht,
I am glad you see serenity.

Rambler,
It was/is a nice walk. I have to make sure I enjoy it now, once the cold weather hits, I tend to hibernate, and think of outside as I place one shouldn't go.

Scarlett,
Thanks. My mom and I were talking about how there are some covered bridge people in the world, who love going from one to the next. (there are covered bridge drives around here). I think they are cool, but I find one to be plenty good enough.
We like the bird spotting, but they know when I get my camera out.
I was out walking (in my yard last night) and I loved the sound of crunching leaves under my feet, and crickets. I am afraid I was talking too much on my walk with my Mom to hear all the different nature sounds. Next week, I promise I will listen.

Amy,
I would love to see your walk photos. (Please do get that camera out, now).

I am glad you appreciate my take on things, and don't find me to be a horrible creature. I have certainly had issues with weight in my lifetime, so I need my calories to count, because I would rather not bother with counting my calories, therefore it is important to me, that I really taste and enjoy a cookie, or cake, if (who am I kidding, I mean WHEN) I am eating them. And when people talk to me, I listen to them, and when I am listening, and really engaged in what they are saying, then I am picturing what they are talking about, and thinking it through and forming comments, feeling happy, or sad for them, et cetera, and then, I can not taste my cookie. A person can be a good wife and mother and taste her cookie too, can't she? So thanks for making me feel better, about being the way I am.

Midnightbunny,
What gracious, generous things to say. Left me feeling a bit confused actually, but thank you.
Do hop by again, I mean stop by again. ( I am soo sorry I couldn't possibly keep myself from saying that).

Excellent pictures, Taffiny! They do instill peace in one's heart, as only nature can do it.

Vesper,
Thank you. And I agree, about nature.
