up to 44,052. I'll keep tally here. I don't intend to do a new blog post till I am done.
Horrible horrible writing day, much swearing and glaring at inanimate objects, fighting, struggling with words.
(odd, and not ideal, as I was supposed to be writing very spiritual, uplifting parts)
My payback, cat is sitting 6 inches from me, staring at me and glaring with his ears back. Why? Because I wont let him chew on my ipod headphones I suppose. Or just because I deserve it, for being mean and cranky in spirit for the past..um..5 1/2 hours.

Go, Taffiny, Go! I've fallen off the Nano train but enjoy reading about your progress.

Matthew,

Thanks.
Sorry you fell off the train, hope it was a soft landing. :)

I am having trouble today. Forgot to keep going with some parts, and follow through with something in the story that I had started, but before trying to add them today I decided to do more research because it was odd that I had forgotten to finish that part. And research says, that whole section is a no go. I could explain it better, but I am already derailed from my writing schedule today, and I better find a way to get back on track.

Paul,
Hi.
Thanks :).
I need the encouragement,
nasty bad writing day
My computer feels very ill treated as I have sworn at it quite a bit today. I also swore under my breath at the phone when it rang, but sadly that is something I often do.
Well at least today's writing is over, and the degree of today's bad, leaves plenty of space/hope that tomorrow will be better.

Please, please, please, let it be better.

Hope you are doing well, and getting along well with all the inanimate objects in your life.

taffiny - sorry the writing went bad today. at least it was prolific! you are rushing past me in word count.

I'm not wearing at inanimate objects. though the Enter key on my laptop is in bad shape from my daughter pulling it off. Ugh

Paul,

:), my previous laptop went years without a G top, drove me nuts, as it didn't type right.

Glad you are such a patient, kind, person, unlike me. I shall try to follow your example today.

My son is older so he just comes over and half sits on me and the computer, when he wants attention. (I assume he picked up this strategy from the cat. Hopefully he wont pick up the cat's back-up one, of chewing on my ipod headphones, and other wires)

I am a bit overwhelmed today, when I think of how much territory I still need to cover in the story, and that I only have four days to do it in. I suppose I could focus instead on just trying to reach the word count goal, and if I am still writing story on Saturday so be it. (I am not sure if looking at it hat way makes me feel better or worse)

Taffiny, I'm totally not worrying about finishing the story by Friday, just hitting the word count. I figure the finished novel will be way above 50,000 words anyhow.

What I don't know is where the story will go next. I have been writing this whole thing by the seat of my pants which is interesting, but also scary.

Paul,
I can not imagine that!
I know that is what we are "supposed" to be doing. But as I have already admitted, mine has been floating around for 10 years, so I do (as far as I know) know where I am going.
What you are going would be very scary, and exciting.

I think you are right, so I will follow your lead, and focus on word count for now, and the story will end, whenever it ends.
(It is just that there is so much domestic stuff that needs to be done in December, I was hoping to be done with the rough draft by then.)

Taffiny, you wrote: "I am a bit overwhelmed today, when I think of how much territory I still need to cover in the story, and that I only have four days to do it in. I suppose I could focus instead on just trying to reach the word count goal, and if I am still writing story on Saturday so be it."

Yes, go only for the word count by the end of November. The rest will come, even if it is after Christmas. Just continue to write until you have passed 50,000 words and the NaNoWriMo gods will watch over you even beyond November as you finish the plot line and begin to polish the whole thing.

You can do it, dear heart, so hang in there.

Bonnie,

Thank you. Being told that, does make me feel better. I was thinking I had to increase my word count to get it all in by then, but I am having a hard time doing the 2,000 a day. So I found that idea to be unpleasant to almost lethal proportions (emotionally).

Much better now, that I have separated end of NaNo and end of first draft, days.

Thanks, as ever, for your support and encouragement.
