I am so tired of writing software underlining my words in red.
Smidge IS a word, and I have it spelled correctly.
Leave in utero alone.
It goes on and on.
And since my spelling is horrible, I can have no confidence in it.
So I have to look up every underlined word.
The curse of the underlined word! Half the time I'm quite sure the spellchecker is beyond clueless.

ReplyDeleteThanks. I should just think of it as clueless, instead I feel it is willfully harassing me.
I've heard it said that such modern tech is making us all dumber. But if I was writing a letter with pen and paper, I would merrily be going along- having no idea that I was spelling words wrong. But with a computer telling me I am misspelling- I have to stop and try again, and again, and then look the word up. If only I had a nice spongy brain (that held information), in the end this process would make me smarter.
